Engagement objective
AKF implemented the pilot on responsive caregiving and early learning (0-6 years) in Bahraich (60 villages), Uttar Pradesh from April 2019 to December 2021. StratComm partnered with AKF from the inception of the project in developing a deeper understanding of caregiving practices for children of 0-6 years, within low income and marginalized communities in rural India, and based on this understanding, designing a contextually appropriate SBCC package to improve such practices. At the completion of the pilot StratComm was tasked with distilling learnings from the pilot experience to prepare the package for scale and prepare communication products for dissemination of learnings from the package.
Our process
StratComm worked closely with the AKF to identify specific audiences for dissemination and scale up communication. Based on multiple consultations the critical components of the pilot were identified and measures to make them suited for low cost interventions were identified. Parallely, communication needs for scale up in other states and sharing with CSOs were identified.
A wide range of products catering to these distinct audiences were developed as a part of this partnership.
Key outcome
Final 2 broad packages included
Dissemination of learnings package: This includes videos, briefs, infographics and social media posts highlighting the good practices of the project and the gains of the pilot.
Scale up package: A lean outreach communication package crafted out of the entire pilot experience, tailored for low resource settings. It documents the journey through project briefs and reports as well as curtain raiser films and videos for CSOs, government stakeholders and donors.
